By choosing Storm, you get a comprehensive solution which includes all the necessary tools for any field of activity without any restrictions, while your data becomes a driver of explosive growth of your business.

#1 Dashboards

Storm’s interface is based on dashboards — a simple and convenient desktop with a system of windows which display real-time data, pages, and widgets.

You can work as it suits you best — drag and drop pages and widgets, remove old ones and add new ones, i.e. customize Storm. You can share your dashboards with other users by saving them to dedicated repositories. If you share your dashboards within a local network of your enterprise, you don't have to establish a connection to an external server. To date, this is the only BI system that provides such level of flexibility.

#2 Widgets

Storm offers a large number of various widgets, including lists, matrices, pivot tables, maps, charts, graphs, and other types of data presentation which can be used in any area of business. Primary data are presented in a convenient structured format. You can load the required detailed data from any widget as a drill down on any level which can display any information from final figures to detailed values.

It means that you'll be able to obtain summary information on performance of your enterprise, departments, units, their heads or detailed information on your employees, their projects, transactions, and budgets. This data can be displayed, converted, or sorted as you please.

All this data are displayed in a drill down structure. You can go to any of the nodes of this structure at any time, which means that you don’t need to concern yourself with time and effort consuming searches for the information you need.

#3 Drill down

One of the strongest points of Storm is a drill down analytics tool which displays information about your business as a convenient tree structure.

Nodes of this structure represent levels of your organization — departments, units, subdivisions. To see detailed information on their contents (employees, executed and terminated contracts), just open a node. Your data becomes comprehensible and totally transparent — Storm does not create any complex relations. All data are presented in expanded form, and you can switch between the levels and work with the data as you need.

To view detailed information on each customer of a certain sales manager in any branch anywhere in the world, his/her superior needs to make just a few clicks. For example, a user can find out whether there were other contacts signed with this contractor, whether it is a key account, how long your company has worked with it, etc. In addition, Storm's end-to-end analytics tools allow you to automate cost management and control over the expenditure of a dedicated budget for a certain period of time, which is very important during the management of the bank's expenses.

Storm allows for total control over all business processes, makes it much easier to find the information you need, and saves your time.

#4 Data Snapshot

Data in Storm dashboards are automatically updated in real time. However, some tasks require saving information as is to use it in future. Storm has a useful and flexible snapshot feature which allows to save information that was relevant at some point. This information will be saved and can be retrieved at any time upon request.

Thus, you can store information on your employees hired over the past year to compare it later to the current year or you can get information on salaries, performance, number of projects to make certain conclusions and take a decision.

You can create a snapshot as any Storm widget by transforming a list into a matrix, a pivot table, and then return to a list. Data won’t be corrupted and will remain accurate.

#5 Reporting

Storm has a powerful report generation and automation system. You can generate reports based on real-time data directly in your dashboard. You can also create a deferred report using any of your templates. In this case, the system will automatically run a script, collect the necessary information, and send it to any number of addressees at a predetermined time.

Storm has a powerful independent module that allows to create and edit your own templates of any complexity, use your own scripts, and perform calculations right within reports. Data can be saved in any modern formats, including but not limited to PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, HTML.

#6 Downloading and Filters

Dealing with data implies that data can change, become irrelevant, or even be removed. Storm downloads data directly from a client’s operational database and processes it in real time without creating copies to save your resources. You can manage data as you please. It also ensures data filtering and selection flexibility to view information based on certain criteria.

For example, you have six managers in a department and you would like to assess the current situation on four of them and get data on their customers. Another example is when you want to obtain information on your branches in a certain country or for a certain period of time. Advanced filtering features will help you manage any tasks and be aware of your processes on every level of your business.

Storm also can restrict the number of loaded or displayed entries to view only the most relevant information and greatly reduce data loading time. To make it easier for you to work with Storm, we added a feature that enables you to save filter settings and share them with your colleagues.

#7 Slave Widget

When you go to another node of a drill down list, a new dashboard opens, which is not always convenient. This issue is addressed by the slave widget which is linked to the data source, i.e. when you choose data in one widget, the slave widget synchronizes and loads data from another source in the same window. In other words, it is a data explorer; an intermediary from one widget to another within a single dashboard. We recognize that data without a context are just a set of meaningless digits impossible to analyze — that’s why we developed a tool which facilitates analysis and makes it easy to compare data on any level of your business.

#8 Detailed Data Card

Storm allows to create a data card which can include detailed information on any aspect of your business on any level. The data in the card is presented in a user-friendly table. To get an instant access to all the necessary summary information, just click on the corresponding unit or employee in the system. You don’t need to waste your time anymore collecting data from various tables to prepare profiles of your customers and managers — Storm makes it easy for you! All you need is just a few clicks.

#9 Matrix

This widget summarizes data, automatically aggregates and calculates sums and average values, and represents them in charts. Matrix is a great way to assess your results based on large bulks of data and reveal certain regularities.

For example, you would like to find out what are your customer preferences when it comes to their savings (whether they keep it in gold, shares, or foreign currencies) and what is the share of a certain resource in such savings. Instead of viewing complex tables, we create a matrix which displays this consolidated data as a simple chart that represents the overall picture and helps make a decision.

The drill down tool in the matrix provides you with a full set of contextual granular data for any value within the matrix. Thus, a drill down analysis of the matrix of wages in the company’s units broken down by employees shows the difference in salaries between senior and junior positions. Besides, matrices help managers find out which employees are involved in activities of a certain unit and what funds are spent on salaries. Highly-paid employees may be currently engaged in rather simple projects, and to improve performance, the company should reassign them to the ones that are more important.

The matrix tool will make your business activities really transparent to you.

#10 Pivot Table

A multi-level pivot table is an essential data visualization and grouping tool. Each level of the drill down tree is a matrix. Conventional tables may have too much data which are difficult to grasp as an aggregate, while pivot tables can automatically sort and calculate sums and average values of electronic data. The results are displayed in another table (called a pivot table) as summarized data. The user can customize and adjust its structure by simply drag-and-dropping the elements in graphical mode.

Pivot tables are generated the same way as the matrices — you choose the desired criteria which will be displayed as rows and columns, as well as data for calculation, and get detailed information on any row or column.

Get the most valuable data in just a few minutes!

#11 Charts

Charts (histograms, pie charts, etc.) are used for data visualization, analysis, and predictions. Storm has a large number of charts which can be used in any commercial and non-commercial activities to reflect data in histograms, pie charts, funnels, maps, pyramids, etc. With just a few clicks, you can present share values, employee performance, financial indicators, wages and bonuses by departments and draw conclusions based on certain regularities.

Most charts have a 3D version. You can also overlay different types of charts that share axes even if they have different dimensions. For example, one chart may display profitability by employees and another one may reflect expenses by units. Most types of charts support the drill down tool.

For your convenience, we included an option of adding any libraries used for data visualization.

#12 Additional Features

Storm has a powerful and flexible code architecture that allows users to create their own widgets and expand system functionality. Storm supports HTML and Java Script widgets and can transmit data in such widgets.

When working with your database, Storm does not alter its contents. However, if you want this feature, you can create data entry forms using QML. We also added an embedded browser which supports statistical tables, texts, images, and HTML pages.

The main objective of Storm is to enable your business to unleash its full potential and improve your performance and profitability. We will be happy to achieve this objective by adding more widgets into the system based on your specific needs.

Storm is a powerful, easy to use, and flexible tool, which is confirmed by various organizations around the world. Advanced features of our system allowed them to save time and money, optimize workflow in their units, reduce report generation times to a few minutes, and make cost-effective solutions.

We are sure you will appreciate all benefits of our BI system and take your business to the next level!
